Shallow Water Aerobics

This water aerobics class is great for adults looking for a fun, low-impact physical activity. During class you will perform various movements in shallow water to improve joint flexibility, range of motion, and muscle strength to the sound of up-beat music!

Deep Water Aerobics

Multiple days and times available

Ages 18+

This water aerobics class is great for adults looking for a fun, low-impact physical activity. During class you will perform various movements in 8-10 feet of water to improve joint flexibility, range of motion, and muscle strength. Aqua belts are provided and are required to participate.

Parent and Child Aquatics Level 1 & 2

Parent and Child Aquatics introduces basic skills to parents and children. Parents learn how to safely work with their child in the water, including how to appropriately support and hold their child in the water and how to prepare and encourage their child to participate fully and try the skills. Children receive an introduction to basic skills that lay a foundation for learning to swim. In addition, parents are introduced to several water safety topics.

S'WET™ Silver

S’WET™ Silver is a low-impact water workout blending LIIT, joint mobility, and functional movement to support strength, balance, and daily living—designed especially for active adults, aging athletes, and participants seeking a balanced, full-body workout. This workout can be done in both the shallow end and deep end of the lap pool at the same time.

Join Amy for a shallow water Tabata workout. Her Tabata workout consists of 30 minutes of interval training that is a total body cardio blast! She will balance out this high energy workout with 15 minutes of mindful stretching designed to improve muscular flexibility and joint range of motion.

Preschool Level 3 helps children start to gain basic swimming propulsive skills to be comfortable in and around water. Skills to be taught include entering the water, fully submerging, and holding breath in the water, bobbing, rotary breathing, front, jellyfish, and tuck floating, front
and back floating or gliding with recoveries, changing direction of travel while swimming on front and back, finning arm action on back and age-appropriate water safety topics.

Level 1: Learn to Swim

This class is for the child who can swim independently and has not mastered his/her stroke techniques. Skills to be taught include entering and exiting the water, submerging, bobbing, opening eyes underwater and retrieving submerged objects, front, jellyfish, and tuck floating, front kicking and gliding, back kicking, and gliding, rolling from front to back and back to front, rotary breathing, treading water, combining arm and leg actions on front and back and age- appropriate water safety skills.

Level 3: Stroke Development

Ages 5+

The objectives of Learn-to-Swim Level 3 are to expand proficiency of previously learned skills by providing additional guided practice. Participants learn and practice survival floating and learn to swim front crawl and elementary backstroke at rudimentary proficiency levels. We begin introduction of the scissors and dolphin kicks and extend the time duration for treading water. Participants also learn rules for headfirst entries and begin to learn to enter the water headfirst from a seated position at poolside. As in all levels, new and previously addressed water safety topics are included. Participants who successfully complete Level 3 have achieved basic water competency in a pool environment.

Adult Basic Swimming

This class is designed for adults with limited or no prior swimming experience. Instruction emphasizes water safety, floating, breath control, and the development of basic swimming strokes. Participants will build confidence in the water while establishing a strong foundation for future swimming skills.

Master Fins Adult Swimming Program

The JCC Master Fins Swimming program offers structured workouts for adults aged 19 and older. Our program is designed to accommodate a wide range of experience and goals; from casual fitness swimmers to seasoned athletes. While some enjoy training for competition, many simply appreciate the opportunity to stay active in the water.

We welcome triathletes, open water swimmers, and anyone who enjoys swimming, whether it is long-distance endurance sets or shorter sprint-focused workouts. Some members swim once a week, while others train daily. Regardless of your routine, you will find a supportive community united by a shared passion for swimming, fitness, and the camaraderie of training with teammates and a coach.

Dolphin Club Swim Team

There has been something special happening here at the Weinstein JCC with the Dolphin Club Swimming program. With the “Fin Family”, athletes can experience competitive swimming in an environment that facilitates self-confidence, teaches patience throughout a process, and encourages positive relationship building.

This aquatic small group training, or personal training, is geared to athletes and runners looking to cross train or individuals recovering from injury. Utilizing the power of water and Hydrorevotion specialty equipment, this is aquatic strength training in HIIT segments matched with resistant, finned running in deep water, for a powerful, but easy on the joints workout.
