"On Tour" With Nani Vazana

#11 ranked on the World Music Charts, Israeli-Ladino folk singer and trombonist, Nani Vazana, makes a stop at the Weinstein JCC as part of her world tour. With music documented for the Library of Congress in 2023 and having performed at both The Kennedy Center and Richmond Folk Festival in recent years, Nani is excited to be back in the Richmond metro area and performing a commemorative concert in recognition of the one-year anniversary of the October 7 attacks in Israel. 

 

Joel Chasnoff: I'm Not Your Zayde's Jewish Comedian

Stand-up comedian, former IDF soldier, and author of multiple non-fiction books, including the newly released Israel 201, Joel Chasnoff is unlike a lot of Jewish comics. Joel’s comedy is clever, clean, and positive. No stereotypes, no tired Borscht-Belt cliches. Just hip, wholesome comedy about the joys and oys! of Jewish life. Joel has performed at more than 1,500 Jewish events in ten countries, from the Melbourne Comedy Festival in Australia to Israeli late-night TV.

Continuing what began in the Fall of 2023, Voices in Peace, the Jewish community’s inclusive choir is back for another inspiring performance.  Choral directors, Natan Berenshteyn and Jamie Barrack, have gathered a diverse group of singers to perform songs that promote the Jewish values of love and peace.

Their concerts combine an eclectic array of styles, sophisticated musicianship, good songwriting, deep grooves, and years of friendship with a simple message of Unity in the Community.
