through one of the many social and intellectual programs and events for active adults at the Weinstein JCC. Opportunities for seniors to remain active and vital abound at our Center. The 5400 Club, the Grand Tones and many other programs keep older members active and involved. Be a part of one or all of our enriching and engaging activities for active adults such as cultural activities including films, concerts and lectures.

The 5400 Club

This group, consisting of retired and semiretired men and women ages 60+ meets each Monday throughout the year. Each meeting features an outstanding guest speaker. Membership in the 5400 Club is open to all male/female Weinstein JCC members.


This group is a self-governing organization with its own board, assisted by a Weinstein JCC staff advisor. Feel free to come as our guest and bring your friends!

Cost: $30 per year. This fee includes a wonderful installation brunch.

Active Adult Programs

EnRich for Life and Food for Thought
The Weinstein JCC and Jewish Family Services have teamed up for our 7th season to create two innovative programs designed to provide older adults with a monthly activity that enlightens and engages. After the educational Food for Thought speaker series, adults can enjoy specially designed classes each month. Programs vary month-to-month and participants have the option to choose an “active” or “creative” track. Every few months, trips will be offered as well. Trips are free and transportation is provided, but RSVPs are a must.

Alternating EnRich classes and trips begin at 1:30 pm

Special EnRich for Life Program: Intergenerational Passover Model Seder with RTA Students at the Weinstein JCC
Join us on for our 14th annual special Passover Model Seder. Participants will be celebrating by joining active adults and the 7th & 8th graders from Rudlin Torah Academy together in prayer, song and the traditional Seder meal. This program is open to all active adults who would like to participate. All faiths are welcome.

Grand Tones
Performing arm of our Active Adult Programs

Preparations are always under way for performances at nursing homes, organizations, hospitals, churches, synagogues, and civic functions. The Grand Tones are now over 50 years running under the direction of volunteer music director Betsy Cockriel. If you love music but are not a singer, you are still welcome to join us just to listen, have lunch and socialize!

Grand Group
This program meets every Tuesday year round and is for adult men and women. The weekly agenda features programs including entertainment, guest speakers, current events and intergenerational programs. GG members enjoy celebrating many of the holidays and events, including a Chanukah party with the Weinstein JCC Preschool children and a Sweetheart Day luncheon.

12:00 pm: Join the Grand Tones for lunchtime.
(Bring your own and join us. Dessert, coffee & tea provided.)
12:30 – 1:30 pm: Varied weekly program and activities

Cost: $28 per year
Membership is open to all JCC Members.

Wednesday Game Day (NEW PROGRAM)
Join us one Wednesday a month for socializing and playing your favorite game. Whether you like to play mah jong, bridge, cards, rummy cube, scrabble or do puzzles, this group is for you. Bring your friends and we will provide the table, and games or bring your own) Bring your lunch and we will provide the dessert, beverages, and fun!

1st Wednesday of each month: Begins on February 2nd

Cost per Wednesday: $2 for members, $5 for non-members

Thursdays On the Move
This program will offer a fun-filled day trip once a month to area museums, restaurants, sight-seeing, etc. Destination suggestions from participants are appreciated! Annual Weinstein JCC/Hadassah Game Day
Ages: 18+
Join us for an exciting fun-filled day of your favorite games. Just bring your friends,
mahjong set, bridge cards or any other of your favorite games, and the Weinstein JCC will supply the rest. Tables open at 10:00 am, but you can begin playing any time after that. Cost includes morning and afternoon snacks, brunch, table rentals, door prizes and lots of socializing! Please consider bringing nonperishable food items to donate to the Elmer Toth Community Food Pantry.

Sweetheart Day
Ages: 60+
One of our favorite active adult events of the year! This is a special active adult luncheon that has been in place for 16+ years. Join us and help celebrate “love” through music and dancing, a delicious lunch and camaraderie with friends.
