Connect, Engage, and Learn

The Weinstein JCC offers many social and intellectual programs and events for active adults. Opportunities for seniors to remain active and vital abound at our Center. The 5400 Club, the Grand Tones and many other programs keep older members active and involved. Be a part of one or all of our enriching and engaging activities for active adults such as cultural activities including films, concerts and lectures.

The 5400 Club

This group, consisting of retired and semiretired men and women ages 60+ meets each Monday throughout the year. Each meeting features an outstanding guest speaker. Membership in the 5400 Club is open to all male/female Weinstein JCC members.

This group is a self-governing organization with its own board, assisted by a Weinstein JCC staff advisor. Feel free to come as our guest and bring your friends!

Mondays
12:00 – 12:30 pm: Lunch (Bring your own and join us, dessert provided.)
12:30 – 1:30 pm: Program

Cost: $30 per year. This fee includes a wonderful installation brunch.

Active Adult Programs

EnRich for Life
The Weinstein JCC and Jewish Family Services have teamed up for our 7th season to create an innovative program designed to provide older adults with a monthly activity that enlightens and engages. Lunch is complimentary but RSVPs are a must.

11:45 am: Delicious Kosher Lunch provided
12:30-1:30 pm: Food for Thought program

Grand Tones
Performing arm of our Active Adult Programs

Preparations are always under way for performances at nursing homes, organizations, hospitals, churches, synagogues, and civic functions. The Grand Tones are now over 50 years running under the direction of volunteer music director Betsy Cockriel. If you love music but are not a singer, you are still welcome to join us just to listen, have lunch and socialize!

Tuesdays
11:00am – 12:00 pm: Rehearsal time
12:00pm – 12:30 pm: Lunch (Bring your own and join us, dessert provided.)
12:30 – 1:30 pm: Varied weekly program and activities, including a Chanukah party with the Weinstein JCC Preschool children and a Sweetheart Day luncheon.

Cost: $28 per year

Wednesday Game Day (NEW PROGRAM)
Join us two Wednesdays a month for socializing and playing your favorite game. Whether you like to play mah jong, bridge, cards, Rummikub, or scrabble, this group is for you. Bring your friends and we will provide the table, and games or bring your own) Bring your lunch and we will provide the dessert, beverages, and fun!

2 Wednesdays of each month: 4/3, 4/17,  5/8, 5/22, 6/5,  6/19 – 11:30 am – 1:30 pm
Open to JCC members and non-members.
