Interconnected Wellness

In this eight-week course, participants will be guided in weekly-themed gentle yoga and movement for half of the class time, followed by prompts for reflection, sharing, and learning with each other for the other half of class time. This integrative approach will offer participants the opportunity to deepen their connections with their whole being (body, mind, and spirit) and be part of a larger community of learning.

A new 8-week program designed for your wellness! Join our program for 45-minute full-body workouts twice a week and alternating weekly group sessions with a dietitian or mental health coach. Together, we support each other on the journey to wellness.  

Tai Chi (Winter/Spring 2024)

This series of classes will offer guidance through functional movements which benefit our physical, emotional and spiritual well being and train our overall balance and inner awareness. No experience necessary. Based on various Taiji (Tai Chi) forms as well as Qigong (Chi-gong) breathing and patterned movements for breath practices and longevity. Dress comfortably with flat, flexible shoes.

Meditation For Continuing Students

In this class, we will continue to deepen our practice. We will work with our breath through Pranayama, a vital link in calming the mind, and experience deep states of relaxation through various techniques.

Intro to Meditation is a prerequisite for taking this class unless prior approval by instructor. A meditation cushion or folded blanket is recommended.

Krav Maga is a self-defense system developed for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) to maximize your impact and minimize your risk in a self-defense situation. It combines practical techniques from various Martial Arts to defend on your feet or on the ground. In this 8-week class, students will experience firsthand their own power, strength, and resilience in a safe and disciplined atmosphere.

Teen Fitness Center Orientation

Schedule an appointment for teens to learn proper gym etiquette, techniques, and fitness center basics. Teens ages 13-15 must have training with fitness center staff to be able to work out in the fitness center. Please contact [email protected] to schedule a time for your teen to become oriented to the fitness center. A responsible adult must still be present for ages 13-15 working out in the Fitness Center.

Strength and Tone for Women (Winter/Spring)

Looking to tone up and trim down? This low-impact but high results 45-minute full body workout focuses on strength training and isometric movements. This class strengthens and fine tunes your main muscle groups and muscles you may not even know you have! Slower paced moves with lighter weights to contract your muscles in a different way. Join this new specialized class where you will get individual attention from Katie and learn the best way to move your specific body. Each move can be modified or amplified depending on your specific needs.

FREE 15-minute Physical Therapy Assessments on site at the WJCC. Come see a Physical Therapist with you questions for a free consultation. Orthopedic Physical Therapy, Inc. will look at how your whole body is connected to help identify the source of your pain and symptoms.
