Meet Our Instructors

Aurea Hawkes

Is a seasoned Full-Spectrum Doula and Childbirth Educator with five years of experience supporting families through birth, postpartum, and all reproductive events. 

As a mother of two with professional birth assistant training, Aurea brings deep empathy and practical expertise to hospital, home, and cesarean births alike. 

Known for a passionate commitment to body autonomy, they focus on equipping families with the education and confidence needed to experience a truly empowered birth journey. 

Kate Hopkins​
BSN, RN, LCCE

Has been a doula and yoga teacher since 2017, a Registered Nurse since 2020, and a Labor and Delivery Nurse since 2023. She is a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator, and a Body Ready Method® Certified Pro. 

Before getting into birthwork, she worked in local and regenerative agriculture, conservation, and outdoor education, as well as driving a bike taxi in New Orleans. 

She is also a writer, Craniosacral therapist, menstrual cycle educator, podcaster, and generally really enthusiastic about the earth, the body, and the wild + mystifying experience of being human.

Kimmothy Cole​

Is a trans non-binary educator, organizer and creator living in central Virginia. Cole has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre, an endorsement in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health (Virginia), is a certified Embodied Social Justice practitioner and Movement Chaplain. 

They have 20 years of experience organizing intergenerational community in spiritual, educational and creative environments. Cole has worked as a collaborative artist on original performance works and adaptations with professional, educational and youth-focused organizations. 

They work with students from infancy through adulthood to develop skills in creative expression, confidence and collaboration. Cole leads workshops in devised methods, socially conscious performance, creative community building and ability-inclusive skill building. 

They are an award-winning theatre artist with decades of experience as a performer, director, choreographer, technician and educator utilizing puppeteering, Viewpoints, contact improv, clowning, and a wide range of theatre and dance styles. 

Cole believes in ability and age inclusive community that values the many different phases of wisdom that humans access throughout their life. Trained in consensus-based decision making, Cole teaches consent culture and meaningful conflict resolution at all ages. 

Currently, Cole is the Director of Programming for US|wild|THEMS, an intergenerational community with a focus on early childhood education.

Natalie Russell​

Is the proud owner of FIT4MOM Richmond, a certified instructor, and mom to her son, Charlie (born in 2011). Before finding her passion for supporting moms through fitness, Natalie was a professional ballet dancer, performing with BalletMet in Columbus, Ohio, and Northern Ballet in England.

Natalie and her family moved from England to Richmond in 2014. She loves bringing moms together and creating a welcoming space where they can move, connect, feel supported, and have fun. For Natalie, FIT4MOM is about so much more than fitness—it’s about friendship, community, and supporting moms through every stage of motherhood.
