Deep Water Aerobics

This water aerobics class is great for adults looking for a fun, low-impact physical activity. During class you will perform various movements in 8-10 feet of water to improve joint flexibility, range of motion, and muscle strength. Aqua belts are provided and are required to participate.

Shallow Water Aerobics

Aqua Fit Bootcamp

June 10 - August 31

Thursdays @ 8:05PM - 8:50PM

Ages 18+

This class mixes calisthenic exercises with interval cardio and strength training in a pool environment. The entire length of the lap pool is used from the shallow to the deep end. Deep water aqua belts will be worn, kickboards, aqua fitness barbells, and noodles will all be utilized throughout your workout.

Aqua Zumba

Parent and Child Aquatics Level 1

June 21 - August 9

Wednesdays @ 6:00 PM - 6:30 PM

Ages 6 months – 3 years with accompanying adult

Level 1 introduces basic skills to parents and children. Parents learn how to safely work with their child in the water, including how to appropriately support and hold their child in the water and how to prepare and encourage their child to participate fully and try the skills. Children receive an introduction to basic skills that lay a foundation for learning to swim. In addition, parents are introduced to several water safety topics.

Parent and Child Aquatics Level 2

June 21 - August 9​

Wednesdays @ 6:00 PM - 6:30 PM ​

Ages 6 months – 3 years with accompanying adult

Parent and Child Aquatics Level 2 builds on the skills introduced in Level 1. Participants improve on these skills and learn more advanced skills in Level 2. As with Level 1, water safety topics are also included in this level. Parent and Child Level 1 is not a prerequisite for this course.

Preschool Aquatics Level 1

Ages 3-5

For first time young swimmers who are not yet comfortable in the water. Level 1 orients children to the aquatic environment and helps them gain basic aquatics skills.

Preschool Aquatics Level 2

A class focused on skill development for young swimmers who are comfortable in the water. Level 2 helps children gain greater independence in their skills and develop more comfort in and around water.

Preschool Aquatics Level 3

For the more advanced young swimmers who are extremely comfortable in the water and swimming independently with breaths. Preschool Level 3 helps children start to gain basic swimming propulsive skills to be comfortable in and around water.

Level 1: Learn to Swim

This class is for the first-time swimmer that doesn’t know how to swim.

Level 2: Fundamental Aquatics Skills

This class is for the child who can swim independently and has not mastered his/her stroke techniques.

Level 3: Stroke Development

The objectives of Learn-to-Swim Level 3 are to expand proficiency of previously learned skills by providing additional guided practice. As in all levels, new and previously addressed water safety topics are included. Participants who successfully complete Level 3 have achieved basic water competency in a pool environment.

Level 4: Stroke Improvement

January 8 - May 7

Sundays @ 1:30PM - 2:00PM

Ages 5+

In Learn-to-Swim Level 4, participants improve their aquatic skills and increase their endurance by swimming the strokes learned in Level 3 (i.e., front crawl, elementary backstroke) for greater distances and with more advanced proficiency.

Pre-Fins Group

Pre-fins is a great way to keep your child active this year while introducing them to Dolphin Club swim team program! Practices are run as a hybrid between a swim team practice and group swim lessons. This gives the swimmers more personal attention from our coaches to improve their strokes, while also giving them a taste of the competitive swimming world. We will be holding fun intra-squad meets at the JCC throughout the year. The Pre-fins program emphasizes learning, fitness, and fun!

Dolphin Club Swim Team

There has been something special happening here at the Weinstein JCC with the Dolphin Club Swimming program. With the “Fin Family”, athletes can experience competitive swimming in an environment that facilitates self-confidence, teaches patience throughout a process, and encourages positive relationship building.
