Funny Girl at the Kennedy Center with the Jewish Community Center

Thursday, July 11

Bus departs at 8:45 AM | Returns at 7:00 PM

The Kennedy Center which opened in 1971, is both our National Performing Arts Center and memorial to John F. Kennedy. Set on 17 acres overlooking the Potomac, it houses an opera house, concert hall, two-stage theaters, theater lab, and film theater. Combine the Kennedy Center’s elegant atmosphere with a wonderful Broadway musical and you have the ingredients for a fantastic afternoon of entertainment!

Enjoy lunch today at Mazi DC, a warm, stylish eatery in the heart of Washington D.C. offering new American dishes with a Mediterranean touch. Choices include Greek Salad with Chicken, Honey-glazed Salmon with vegetables and basmati rice, Mediterranean Salad with Salmon, or Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo. Includes Tiramisu for dessert and non-alcoholic beverage.

Today’s Matinee: “Funny Girl” After a successful Broadway run recently, the Kennedy Center is excited to host this classic Broadway musical! Featuring one of the greatest musical scores of all time, including classic songs “Don’t Rain On My Parade,” “I’m the Greatest Star,” and “People,” this bittersweet comedy is the story of the indomitable Fanny Brice, a girl from the Lower East Side who became one of the most beloved performers in history, shining brighter than the brightest lights of Broadway.
