About Our Pools

The Francis A. Lewis Pool

The ideal place to immerse yourself in health. Kept at 82 degrees, this 25-yard, six lane salt-water pool is used for everything from general lap swim and deep water fitness to instructional swim lessons. It’s also the home pool for the Dolpholinas Synchronized Swim Team and the Dolphin Club Summer and Winter Swim Teams.

Please note that based on time of day and usage of the pool, lifeguards may intiate circle-swim. There will also be signage during programs and private swim lessons to indicate which lanes are open for free swim. Open swim lanes are reflected on the pool schedule, but if you have any questions please feel free to contact Kelly Johannsen at (804) 545-8640.

The Sternheimer Recreational Pool

It’s family fun year-round. This 86-degree recreational saltwater pool is our own tiny water park. The Sternheimer Recreational Pool includes two waterslides, a lazy river, a sitting area with whirlpool-like jets, a mushroom waterfall and lemon drop and wall sprays. Programming includes recreational play for all ages, instructional swim lessons and shallow water fitness.

Hours that the Rec Pool is open to the community are also posted.

The Dolphins and Dolpholinas Swim Teams

By participating in the Weinstein JCC’s swim team programs, children can improve their skills as they learn critical values like teamwork, responsibility, dedication and self-discipline.

The Weinstein JCC’s Dolphin Club was founded in 1955 and is a registered swim club with Virginia Swimming, a Local Swim Committee of USA Swimming. As a part of USA Swimming, the Dolphin Club participates in the Safe Sport Program, which is focused on creating and maintaining a fun, healthy and safe environment for its members.

The Dolphin Club Summer Swim Team

For many years, the Weinstein JCC has had an exciting summer swim team that competes in the Greater Richmond Aquatic League, also known as GRAL. Over recent years, the Dolphin Club has teamed up with Tuckahoe Village to create an even more exciting practice and competitive environment, and we will be doing so again this season! With the enthusiasm and excitement our year-round program has enjoyed this winter/spring season, we are expecting record numbers this summer as the 2017 season promises to be one of the most exciting, fast and fun years yet! Sign up today so you can start preparing for an amazing summer of Dolphoon swimming! NEW! Dolphin Club Long Course Swimming

Due to popular demand, for the first time in team history Dolphin Club will be offering year-round USA Swimming as we prepare for the "Long Course" Season.  Athletes will continue to master their skills in the water while competing in 50-meter length pools rather than 25-yard length pools. There will be 4 long course meets available on various weekends from May-July. This exciting style of racing is perfect for the young swimmer looking to improve themselves drastically as we prepare for the next short course season starting in the fall! As an added bonus, all swimmers who sign up to practice with Dolphin Club Swimming and compete in long course meets will have the option to join our GRAL Summer Team, the Tuckahoe Village Dolphin Club (TVDC) FOR FREE!
