Strength Training for Adult Runners

Do you feel like something is missing from your running program? Would you like to improve your running form and gain appropriate strength and flexibility for injury prevention?

This low-impact, 55-minute class will focus on the strength, stability and mobility required for running. Taught by a physical therapist who specializes in orthopedics and women’s health, Sarah will guide you through a series of movements and exercises specifically for runners. From ankle strength and stability to spinal mobility, this specialized class will be a full body workout that will make you a stronger and more efficient runner. Appropriate for any running level and training program. Can be completed with and will complement a half-marathon/marathon training schedule. 

Attendees will progress through this 8-week class with individualized attention and lots of education on injury prevention. Everyone will finish the course knowing what to focus on in their exercise programs for continued gains.

Sarah Kostyukovsky found an early passion for movement, fitness and the human body through sports and her studies. She majored in kinesiology at the University of Virginia and completed her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Columbia University. 

After 17 years working and living in New York City, Sarah has returned to Virginia with her husband and 3 boys. After rehabbing countless patients through sports and fitness injuries, Sarah’s passion for exercise has evolved to functional movement and injury prevention. She is excited to share her knowledge and love for movement through group teaching!
