October 7th: Unified Memory in Reflection

Sunday, October 5

Weinstein JCC

5403 Monument Ave, Richmond, VA 23226

1:00 - 3:00 PM

This program is dedicated to honoring the memory of those lost in the October 7th attacks and all those lost in the subsequent conflict by creating space for reflection, dialogue, and healing. The afternoon will begin with a commemoration ceremony featuring stories from the community, a moment of silence for the hostages, prayers, and memorial candle lighting led by our community clergy.

We will then hear from Gal Bukshpan, an American-Israeli survivor of the Nova Music Festival, who will share his personal experience and reflections. A moderated Q&A will follow, offering attendees the opportunity to engage more deeply with Gal’s story.

The program will continue with facilitated group discussions and activities designed to foster meaningful conversation around the ongoing conflict in Gaza and the broader impact of October 7th.

Clear bags ONLY. No signs, flags or banners of any kind will be allowed inside.
Security measures will be enforced.
