Ages: 6 months – 3 years
8 weeks
Maximum Class Size: 12

American Red Cross Parent and Child Aquatics is designed for children between the ages of 6 months and approximately 3 years, and their parents.

The purpose of the course is to familiarize children with the water and teach swimming readiness skills. In addition,

Red Cross Parent and Child Aquatics provides safety information for parents and teaches parents techniques they can use to help orient their children to the water.

Level 1 introduces basic skills to parents and children. Parents learn how to safely work with their child in the water, including how to appropriately support and hold their child in the water and how to prepare and encourage their child to participate fully and try the skills.

Children receive an introduction to basic skills that lay a foundation for learning to swim. In addition, parents are introduced to several water safety topics.
