This series of classes is ideal for those with no prior Tai chi experience. It is also recommended for those who wish to refresh the foundations of the form prior to joining an intermediate class. 

 

Foundations of Tai Chi is based on the Yang Style 24-form, as well as Qigong (Chi-gong) breathing and patterned movements for restoration and longevity. 

Guidance is offered through functional movements which benefit our physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being and train our overall balance and inner awareness. 

Dress comfortably with loose, comfortable clothing and flat shoes with minimal tread (ex. Keds, Vans, Sperrys) to prevent sticking.



Cheri Maffei-Wolff has trained in several Tai Chi forms and has successfully competed in National Tournaments with Open Hand forms and the partner practice of Push Hands. She subscribes to the practice of Tai Chi and Qigong as essential ways to calm the mind and connect the body. Cheri has been teaching in Richmond for nearly 20 years.
