Weinstein JCC

Serving Richmond and the Jewish Community for Nearly 80 Years — Celebrating Our 80th Anniversary in Fall 2026

More than 8,000 Richmonders currently enjoy the Weinstein JCC, a community cornerstone since its founding movement began in 1941. The first center opened on Idlewood Avenue in fall of 1946 with about 300 Jewish members. Within three years, membership expanded to include the entire community—regardless of religious affiliation, race, age, or background. We moved to our current Monument Avenue location in 1959 and have since added an early childhood wing, auditorium, grab-and-go café, and a state-of-the-art fitness facility featuring a saltwater lap pool and rec pool with a waterslide and lazy river.

In Goochland County, we purchased and transformed 100 acres into Camp Hilbert, a vibrant summer day camp where kids connect with nature, enjoy archery and canoeing, and explore creativity through drama, music, and crafts.

Today, the Carole and Marcus Weinstein Jewish Community Center remains dedicated to enriching the Richmond and Jewish communities through personal, cultural, social, and physical wellness.

As we approach our 80th anniversary in fall 2026, we reflect on decades of positive impact in RVA. We’re a network of caring people with exceptional programs and facilities, grateful for the opportunity to serve our community every day. The Weinstein JCC’s influence reaches beyond membership—we’re committed to the well-being of all Richmond residents.
