Kids’ Place Camps (Grades: K-8): Field Trip Fun

The mission of the Weinstein JCC’s Kids' Place Camps is to promote self-esteem, positive values and personal growth within a camp environment that is rich with Jewish culture, and to challenge the mind, body and imagination of each individual child.

Registration for all camps is currently closed. Please email Leslie LaBrie, Camp Director, for more information.

Camp Experiences at the Weinstein JCC

The camp experience starts in preschool with Camp Ganim, and goes all the way up to grade 10 with Camp Hilbert. Specialty Camps offer something different each week for rising K–8 graders, no matter what their interests. We offer programs for children with special needs, too. Our Voices Together camp for children with autism combines stimulating activities with a level of socialization in a caring environment.

Camp Isn’t Just for Summertime!

Our winter and spring break camps are for children ages 5–12 who enjoy staying on the go! These camps are based on the Richmond City and Henrico County school calendars. Activities can include morning yoga, basketball, cooking, science, gym time, exploring artistic skills with pottery, mosaics making, and traveling to the Science Museum, bowling lanes, roller-skating rink, Maymont Park, ice skating, other historic museums and more.

Registration for camps can be made per day or for full weeks.

Become a Camp Ganim Volunteer

Whether you’d like the community service hours to meet school requirements, or you just love being around children, this is your opportunity for a great volunteer experience. The Ganim Volunteer Corps (GVC) lets you volunteer with preschool camp groups to help you learn valuable life skills. Youth in grades 7-12 will be placed in a Camp Ganim group in the morning to assist the counselors and will have the opportunity to learn valuable skills working with young campers. This program will help meet school volunteer requirements. Participants are required to f ill out the GVC application. For more information about GVC, contact Lily Ocasio at 285-6500, ext. 8115.

For more information about camps, contact Kids' Place Director LaVenus Harried at (804) 545-8639 or lharried@weinsteinjcc.org.
