Ways to Give

It’s been a great year for the Weinstein JCC. We continue to make a positive impact in people’s lives and in the Jewish community. Thousands of people in the Greater Richmond community rely on the Center to provide them with wellness, cultural, educational, diversity and recreational programs each day.

Whether you wish to make a contribution to the Weinstein JCC to guarantee that our outstanding programs and services continue to be open to all, to mark a special occasion, to support a special program or to set up a fund in perpetuity, your gift will touch many lives.

Sustainability Fund

With your support, the Weinstein JCC will continue to play a key role in the connection and resiliency of our community!

Tributes & Memorial Gifts

Honor someone special, a special occasion, or the memory of a loved one or friend by making a donation to the Weinstein JCC in their name.

These tribute donations can be made to an established tribute or endowment fund of your choice, or the Weinstein JCC General Fund. Your gift will be acknowledged by letter to the individual or family expressing your sentiment.

Click here to view and fill out the tribute or endowment fund donation form.

*Please note: our Tribute Form is a fillable document that must be downloaded to your computer, filled out and then either mailed to the Center or emailed to Susan Herzick at If you require assistance completing the form, please email Margret and she will be happy to help you.

Capital Replacement & Endowment Fund

Establishing a Capital Replacement and Endowment Fund was a critical component of the Weinstein JCC’s recently concluded “Honoring Traditions ~ Securing Tomorrow” Capital and Endowment Campaign. Successfully raising $5.1M through the Capital Campaign allowed us to:

  • Renovate our 110-acre Camp Hilbert Site
  • Upgrade Components of our Monument Avenue Facility
  • Eliminate the debt from the previous Campaign
  • Establish a Capital Replacement and Endowment Fund

We will continue our efforts to raise money for the Capital Replacement and Endowment Fund. This fund will enable us to continue to maintain and upgrade our facilities, with the goal of eliminating the need for future Capital Campaigns.

Bequests & Planned Giving

Current gifts of cash are vital to our success, but donors can also support the Weinstein JCC by making a planned gift. Legacy giving, planned with the assistance of a qualified professional advisor, can provide immediate benefits—tax savings and additional income—and will give you the satisfaction of knowing your personal philanthropic goals will be met, and that you are helping ensure the Weinstein JCC will maintain its place in our community for years and years to come.

Make a Gift of a Lifetime

The Weinstein JCC is one of 10 local Jewish organizations participating in Life & Legacy, a 4-year partnership program of the harold Grinspoon Foundation and Richmond Jewish Foundation to promote after-lifetime giving.

Gifts Anyone Can Afford

Bequests: Gifts from your will or trust. Bequests are ideal for donors who wish to make a contribution without diminishing available assets during their lifetime. You can designate a specific sum of money or a percentage of your estate’s value, or identify an asset to be transferred.

Beneficiary Designations: Gifts from your retirement plan or life insurance policy. Assets in a qualified retirement plan such as an IRA, a 401(k), a Keogh or a life insurance policy are typically included as part of a taxable estate. To minimize income and estate taxes you can select the Weinstein JCC as the beneficiary of these retirement assets.

Income for Life Gifts: Gifts from annuities or trusts. Income for Life Gifts include Charitable Gift Annuities and Charitable Remained Trusts. These vehicles allow you to generate income to enhance your lifestyle and create a legacy for the community. You contribute cash or securities to a fund or trust, decide who will receive income from it (yourself, a family member or friend), and make decisions about the income distribution process. When the income period ends, the funds flow to the designated charitable beneficiary.

Appreciated Assets: Gifts of stock. Your gift of appreciated stock that has been held for more than one year will benefit the Weinstein JCC and may save you capital gains taxes and provide a variety of other tax benefits.

More gift planning vehicles are available to help you meet your legacy goals. We encourage you to contact a financial advisor or your attorney to further explore these options.
