It’s been a great year for the Weinstein JCC. We continue to make a positive impact in people’s lives and in the Jewish community. Thousands of people in the Greater Richmond community rely on the Center to provide them with wellness, cultural, educational, diversity and recreational programs each day.
Whether you wish to make a contribution to the Weinstein JCC to guarantee that our outstanding programs and services continue to be open to all, to mark a special occasion, to support a special program or to set up a fund in perpetuity, your gift will touch many lives.
At the recent JCCA Professional Conference, our EnRich for Life program received the Gold Standard award (Zahav) for program excellence—as an outstanding and visionary initiative with maximum impact and potential for change.
To add to this excitement, one of the program’s pioneers, Sandy Sisisky, has just announced a $2500 challenge grant, to help raise the necessary funds to keep this monthly active adult event available for our entire community to participate in at no cost for the remainder of the year. The EnRich for Life program at the Weinstein JCC, and in collaboration with JFS, focuses on improving the quality of life for adults aged 65+ of all backgrounds and faiths in the greater Richmond community. Each month, more than 150 adults enjoy a hot kosher meal, a speaker/performer series, and a phsyical or creative activity or field trip.
Here at the Weinstein JCC, we are proud that all year long we incorporate natural settings into our Early Childhood and Kids’ Place programs, which stimulate learning and give children the awareness of being part of a larger world. Since 2013 our Edible Schoolyard—the Weinstein JCC’s Children’s Garden—has played a critical role in providing unique learning experiences as it offers hands-on opportunities for youngsters of all ages to dig in the dirt, plant, weed, pull vegetables, and eat fresh food they have nurtured and harvested.
Your gift will positively impact lives in the Jewish and Richmond community by GROWING our Edible Schoolyard and transforming it into a special setting for all to learn, explore, eat and get dirty! If you would like to see our vision for enhancements to the recently relocated Edible Schoolyard, please click here.
If you would like to make a fully tax-deductible donation to our garden campaign, please visit our donation page.
Our summer programs and services – including Camp Ganim, Camp Hilbert, Voices Together (our program for children with autism spectrum disorders) and a wide variety of Specialty Camps – provide an opportunity for a child to explore a world bigger than his/her neighborhood – to make new friends, develop new social skills and learn about teamwork.
Thanks to the generosity of our Friends of the Center who gave to the Send-a-Kid-to-Camp Scholarship Fund, we are able to make the camp experience a reality for many children in need of assistance.

Establishing a Capital Replacement and Endowment Fund was a critical component of the Weinstein JCC’s recently concluded “Honoring Traditions ~ Securing Tomorrow” Capital and Endowment Campaign. Successfully raising $5.1M through the Capital Campaign allowed us to:
We will continue our efforts to raise money for the Capital Replacement and Endowment Fund. This fund will enable us to continue to maintain and upgrade our facilities, with the goal of eliminating the need for future Capital Campaigns.

Current gifts of cash are vital to our success, but donors can also support the Weinstein JCC by making a planned gift. Legacy giving, planned with the assistance of a qualified professional advisor, can provide immediate benefits—tax savings and additional income—and will give you the satisfaction of knowing your personal philanthropic goals will be met, and that you are helping ensure the Weinstein JCC will maintain its place in our community for years and years to come.
The Weinstein JCC is one of 10 local Jewish organizations participating in Life & Legacy, a 4-year partnership program of the harold Grinspoon Foundation and Richmond Jewish Foundation to promote after-lifetime giving.
To learn how you can make a legacy gift and a profound impact on future generations, please contact Margret O'Keefe, Development Director, at 804-545-8609 or email@example.com.

Bequests: Gifts from your will or trust. Bequests are ideal for donors who wish to make a contribution without diminishing available assets during their lifetime. You can designate a specific sum of money or a percentage of your estate’s value, or identify an asset to be transferred.
Beneficiary Designations: Gifts from your retirement plan or life insurance policy. Assets in a qualified retirement plan such as an IRA, a 401(k), a Keogh or a life insurance policy are typically included as part of a taxable estate. To minimize income and estate taxes you can select the Weinstein JCC as the beneficiary of these retirement assets.
Income for Life Gifts: Gifts from annuities or trusts. Income for Life Gifts include Charitable Gift Annuities and Charitable Remained Trusts. These vehicles allow you to generate income to enhance your lifestyle and create a legacy for the community. You contribute cash or securities to a fund or trust, decide who will receive income from it (yourself, a family member or friend), and make decisions about the income distribution process. When the income period ends, the funds flow to the designated charitable beneficiary.
Appreciated Assets: Gifts of stock. Your gift of appreciated stock that has been held for more than one year will benefit the Weinstein JCC and may save you capital gains taxes and provide a variety of other tax benefits.
More gift planning vehicles are available to help you meet your legacy goals. We encourage you to contact a financial advisor or your attorney to further explore these options.
