This class will focus on the most popular tai chi form in the world, the Yang 24 short form. It’s the introductory Tai Chi exercise and is likely to be the style of Tai Chi that you see people doing in the park. This form reduces the traditional long form (over 100 movements) down to 24 postures so that it takes only about six minutes to perform while keeping the essential elements of Tai Chi and retaining its traditional flavor.
This gentle form of exercise can help maintain strength, flexibility, and balance, and could be the perfect activity for the rest of your life. There is growing evidence that this mind-body practice has value in treating or preventing many health problems, and you can get started even if you aren’t in top shape or the best of health.
Beginner’s Class; No equipment or special gear is required--Just comfortable clothes and a good pair of socks. Participants don’t have to be coordinated or athletic---anyone can do it!
